| | | | | THE FABULOUS PICTURE SHOW - ONLY WHEN I DANCEYou are invited to join us for screenings of films as part of The Fabulous Picture Show, where our audience attend the screenings and discussions of forthcoming cutting-edge feature films from around the world.
On Monday 13th July 2009, we will be joined by its director, Beadie Finzi, for a special screening of Only When I Dance.
Tears stream down young Isabela's innocent face as the slender, gazelle-like girl is told she needs to slim down even more if she wants to turn her passion into a career. Like Isabela, Irlan's strictly regimented days leave him no time to be an average teenager. Isabela and Irlan are ballet dancers. And though they have the talent to succeed, they don't look like the other dancers. Ballet has long been the rarified and elitist domain of the white upper class, but these two black high schoolers from Rio de Janeiro's working-class favelas are determined to succeed in this physically and emotionally demanding discipline.
Director Beadie Finzi's inspiring documentary trails the dancers and their tough-love mentor from Brazil to New York during one critical, competition-fueled year in their lives.
After the screening, audience members will have the chance to discuss the film with its director, Beadie Finzi, in a Q&A hosted by journalist Amanda Palmer.

| | | | | 8 OUT OF 10 CATS Hosted by Jimmy Carr and featuring team captains Sean Lock and Jason Manford, 8 out of 10 Cats is a topical panel show based around a huge series of opinion poll surveys carried out around Britain. These opinion polls are not just for trivial stuff like voting intentions, but also the more important issues of the day, like "What do Brits prefer - Facebook or the pub?" There's topical stuff, unusual stuff, showbiz stuff, ridiculous stuff, and - whatever the question - we have discovered the incontestable, incontrovertible answer to it.
Stand by for an irreverent, irrelevant, revealing, knockabout show as two regular teams of fearless, hard-hitting analysts compete to see who best understands what's really going on in today's Britain.
The show is being recorded at BBC TV Centre, White City, London, on Thursday 9th July and booking is now open. If you would like to join us, then apply now!

| | | | | THE SCUM ALSO RISESA sitcom about the flaky, shaky, fakey "creatives" who work in the advertising industry. Underworked and overpaid, they're the people who spend all day trying to persuade you to buy things you don't want with money you don't have. They're scum.
There's Billy, who's smart and funny and STILL works in advertising; uncontrollable urge-bag Keaton; neurotic, spoiled Emma; boss Clive, the most Australian man on the planet; and hopeless, witless, feckless Greg – who wants to be as ambitious and amoral as his friends, but can’t seem to manage even that.
Come and see the show that reaches the parts other comedies cannot reach…. Because you’re worth it.
Starring Adam Buxton (Adam and Joe), Iain Lee (The 11 O'Clock Show) & Daisy Haggard (Man Stroke Woman), The Scum Also Rises is taping at Teddington Studios on Thursdays evenings until 9th July.
Booking is now open so if you'd like to join us, then apply now!

| | | | | THE FABULOUS PICTURE SHOW - SIN NOMBREYou are invited to join us for screenings of films as part of The Fabulous Picture Show, where our audience attend the screenings and discussions of forthcoming cutting-edge feature films from around the world.
On Friday 10th July 2009, we will be joined by the director of 'Sin Nombre', Cary Fukunaga for a special screening of Sin Nombre.
Sin Nombre is a powerful, wrenching thriller that weaves together several absorbing stories set in Central America. It also is the most moving and well-told saga of Latin American immigrants bound for the USA since 1983's El Norte’. – Claudia Puig, USA TODAY
A social-political thriller, Sin Nombre is set not on the Mexican-American border, but rather on the perilous road to that border from the countries of Central America. The fearsome gangs of the Mexican countryside become a gauntlet that migrants must run before even glimpsing their goal. The stories of Sayra, a teenager living in Honduras and hungering for a brighter future, and teen gang members Smiley and Casper, for whom the Mara Salvatrucha gang is nearly their entire universe, become interlaced on the train to the border – a journey that will determine the future of their lives. Young Casper is already a wary veteran of the "Mara," and his new recruit is the 12-year-old Smiley, full of bravado and looking for status. The two run afoul of the everyday violence that permeates their world, and find themselves fellow passengers with Sayra on a States-bound freight, hugging the rooftop as their precarious road trip unfolds.
After the screening, audience members will have the chance to discuss the film with its director, Cary Fukunaga, in a Q&A hosted by journalist Amanda Palmer.
