TEN BILL10N: THE LECTURE
You are invited to attend a lecture by the scientist and author Professor Stephen Emmott based on his acclaimed one man show Ten Billion, described by The Guardian as “the theatrical event of the year”. This filmed lecture will be at the heart of a new feature-documentary by Peter Webber, director of the Oscar-nominated Girl with a Pearl Earring.

Emmott will present a compelling argument for how we have become the cause of every global problem we face. We have grown to a population of seven billion, and as we head to towards ten billion every problem is set to get worse – much worse. Indeed, Emmott argues that we are facing a planetary emergency. This is an evening you cannot afford to miss.

Praise for Ten Billion at the Royal Court Theatre:
“The most momentous theatrical performance of 2012… I came out shaking with fear… I don’t know a single person who saw it and didn’t feel it was a life-changing experience.” Guardian
“Utterly gripping, terrifyingly lucid.” The Times
“I’ve read some of these facts before, but the sheer cumulative impact of a scientist calmly saying them to your face is devastating as anything I’ve seen.” Time Out
“Ten Billion is one of the most disturbing shows I have ever seen on stage… hair-raising… immensely, distressingly powerful.” Financial Times
