BEEHIVE

Beehive is a brand new all-female sketch show, featuring the writing and performing talents of four of the UK’s most exciting new comedy names; stand-up comedian Sarah Kendall, Alice Lowe (Garth Margenhi's Darkplace), Barunka O'Shaughnessy (Respectable) and Clare Thomson (from the sketch group 'Piggy Nero').

Beehive is about women being funny. It's a mix of very silly performances and very clever writing. The four comedy actresses will be writing and performing all the material and introducing audiences to their eclectic world of characters as well as sketches rooted in their own personalities.

Characters include a pair of vague Australian archaeologists; some Geishas with unusual habits; an Elizabeth 1st determined to prove she’s not a virgin; as well as special YouTube clips of celebrities such as Prince, Nicole Kidman and David Bowie as you’ve never seen them. Also appearing are Zelda and Marge, two American teenagers performing chemical experiments in their bedroom; four helpful Amy Winehouses; and some particularly unhelpful air stewardesses.

Beehive has a distinct flavour, combining characters with real comic heart, together with very funny and original performances.

If you'd like to join us for the screening of the show at BBC Broadcasting House, just off Oxford Circus, on Wednesday 15th October then apply now!
