After 5 million views, ITV’s newest odd couple comedy returned for a second series!
Golden Globe winner Brenda Blethyn (Vera, Secrets & Lies) stars as Kate, the owner of a seaside cafe who forms an unexpected and sparky friendship with Koji, an African asylum-seeker. Okorie Chukwu (War of The Worlds, Luther) took over the role of Koji. Although from very different worlds, they are similar in ways which even they do not recognise, including a dogged determination to never back down! When the fur does start to fly, Kate’s funny and resourceful nephew Medium Dan acts as peacemaker.
Dan is played by Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, A Very British Scandal, The Great). Barbara Flynn (Cracker, The Durrells, Doctor Who) stars as Councillor Bone, Kate’s lifelong arch-enemy.
Kate & Koji is written by Guy Jenkin and Andy Hamilton, the writers of many award-winning shows, including Drop the Dead Donkey & Outnumbered, and the show is produced by Hat Trick Productions.
Andy Hamilton (Have I Got News For You, QI, Old Harry’s Game) is himself the warm-up for these enjoyable and very funny evenings.
If you like shows such as Have I Got News For You, Outnumbered, Father Ted, Episodes, Derry Girls, Hypothetical, Armstrong and Miller & Drop the Dead Donkey, then this is definitely the show for you.
